HELPERS PREDICAMENT

Helping isn’t always
An easy task,
When dealing with food
That just may not last.

A wee bit of that
And a little bite of this.
My runner won’t eat it,
So why give it a miss?

She’ll eat only half that pizza,
What to do with the rest?
The ice cream is melting,
We don’t want a mess…

My runner tries not to lose weight,
I hope only to maintain,
But with the outpouring of snacks,
It’s hard not to gain.
Eating daily the same meals
As those fueled for 3100 miles.
Yet most of the day I am sitting
So slowly the weight piles.
Luckily seeing the runners,
Is inspiring me to do the same
To run everyday
Even in the rain.
Thank you Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team
For my 5th summer at this race
And to Suprabha for sharing in
Making history in this place.
