The predecessor of the 3100 mile race was the 2700 Mile Race, dedicated by Sri Chinmoy in 1996. The original race had six starters and five finishers, and was won with a time of 40 days,15 hours by one Georgs Jermalajevs from Latvia. Today Grahak passed the distance in 37 days+15:09:55, which was three days faster than the ‘oldie’. So, progress has been made over the years. Grahak led six men over sixty miles today, reaching 68.05 miles before the stroke of midnight. Atmavir Spacil and Pradeep Hoogakker were also impressive during a hot summer day with light breezes. Grahak has been pegged to finish next Monday, so stay tuned for later predictions.
